Welcome the Rage Against the Machine style lesson videos. Rage Against the Machine guitarist, Tom Morrello no doubt has been a pioneer in this age of guitar playing originality. His attempt to emulate the sounds of DJ's with the guitar has resulted in the creation of an amazing, rhythmic funk type of style. I hope to shed some light here on what equipment your going to need to play this style of music. First of all you are going to need a Digitech Whammy Pitch Controller Pedal to get the right effects sounds. There are many features on the pedal you will need to use such as the wah, envelope filter, octave shifters and more. Personally I use the old Digitech XP100 wah pedal which is the original whammy-wah pedal Digitech came out with. Good luck finding the pedal, it's no longer in production. Either way you will get better results using the newer Digitech Whammy pedal and it is what Tom Morrello actually uses. Now lets get started learning these riffs!
